Steven has over two decades’ experience advising families, professionals, and business owners on navigating complex financial decisions. Prior to founding Henceforward, he spent almost 18 years at Private Wealth Management in Cape Town, part of Old Mutual’s private client division, where he built a successful financial planning practice focused on long-term client relationships.
Steven’s work is grounded in helping clients move from uncertainty to clarity. He is particularly skilled at guiding people through periods of transition — whether that involves career changes, business decisions, retirement planning, or shifts in family circumstances.
A defining strength of Steven’s advisory style is his ability to simplify complexity. Clients often value his use of clear metaphors and practical analogies to make sophisticated financial concepts easier to understand and act on.
Outside of work, Steven prioritises time with his children and focuses on maintaining balance and perspective. Having previously completed endurance events such as Ironman and the Comrades Ultra Marathon alongside Carl-Peter, his current focus is on rebuilding fitness and health in a sustainable way — a mindset that closely mirrors his long-term, steady approach to financial planning.
