Rina Van Heerden

Rina leads Henceforward’s fiduciary and trust administration services, bringing more than two decades of legal experience to the firm’s estate and trust offering. An admitted attorney since 2002 with an LLB from the University of Potchefstroom, she has practised across commercial law, commercial contracts, property, family law, and wills and estates — a breadth that allows her to navigate the technical and human sides of fiduciary work with equal assurance.

Rina has built her career on careful drafting, sound advice, and the disciplined management of complex matters. Her background spans high-volume litigation, contract negotiation, and the structuring of agreements and estates — experience that underpins the rigour she brings to client trusts, wills, and estate planning at Henceforward. She is methodical and thorough by nature, with a strong instinct for identifying risk and finding workable, well-structured solutions.

Rina has a particular focus on the fiduciary side of wealth — ensuring that clients’ estate plans, trust structures, and succession arrangements are properly documented, compliant, and built to endure. Her legal precision complements the firm’s planning work, giving clients confidence that what has been carefully planned will also be carefully protected.

A mother of four, Rina knows first-hand the importance of planning well for the people who matter most — a perspective that brings genuine empathy to her fiduciary work. Outside of the office, she is a keen gardener and runner, finding in both the patience, consistency, and steady attention that characterise her approach to her role at Henceforward
